4-30 Travel Policy

(1) Purpose. The purpose of this section is to bring the city into compliance with T.C.A. §§ 6-54-901 through 6-54-907, which requires the city to adopt travel and expense regulations covering expenses incurred by the mayor, members of the city council, and any city board or committee member elected or appointed by the mayor or city council, and any city official or employee whose salary is set by city Charter or general law.
(2) Intent. It is the intent of this section to ensure fair and equitable treatment to all individuals traveling on city business at city expense. To provide consistent travel regulations and reimbursement, this section is expanded to cover regular city employees.
(3) Policy. The travel policy of the city is as set forth in Resolution No. 2000-05 (Travel Policy effective date 2-1-2000) and any amendments thereto, which are on file in the office of the recorder.
(4) Enforcement. The city's chief administrative officer or his or her designee shall be responsible for the enforcement of this section and the travel regulations adopted hereunder.
