Athens City Code

The city manager or his designee shall monitor all excavations and tunnels being made in or under any public street, curb, sidewalk, alley, or other public right-of-way in the city and see to the enforcement of the provisions of this chapter. Notice shall be given to him before the work of refilling any such excavation or tunnel commences and the work may not commence until the inspector arrives at the site or gives verbal permission to proceed.
