SUBJECT: Asset #4263 Ford F550 Altec Nueco Bucket Truck Replacement & Surplus  
 
The Public Works Department is requesting Council approval for purchase of a replacement 
bucket truck for the Traffic Control  Division. The bucket truck is on a 10 -year useful-life cycle. 
Asset #4263, a preowned 2008 Ford F550 Altec, was purchased in June 2015 for $49,900.  
 
The Department recommends replacement with the purchase  of a 2022 Ford F5500 Altec  for 
$131,777. The vehicle is extremely low mileage /hours and is currently located in Brandon, 
Mississippi. This vehicle has slightly increased working height over our existing truck , but the 
biggest improvement is truck is equipped with outriggers. This is a much -needed specification 
that will enhance employee safety during equipment operation. 
 
After receipt of the equipment,  inspection, and addition to the City’s insurance coverage, asset 
#4263 is to be listed as surplus and sold on GovDeals.
