Dear Mr. Burchfield:

Gresham Smith is submitting a request for additional services related to the City of Athens resurfacing projects, originally
a
uthorized on March 25, 2022. This request addresses the need to cover additional work hours beyond the original estimate,
as well as extra trips resulting from changes in project scope. The first change involves Forest Avenue, where modifications
were made to the plan to maintain and extend the concrete pavement and to review the corridor for extending full depth
replacement areas. The second change pertains to Dennis Street, where failing subgrade conditions were encountered. In
response, Gresham Smith collaborated with the City, contractor, and subconsultants to revise the plans and incorporate Full
Depth Reclamation into the contract. These scope additions extended the contract beyond the original service period and
required additional design work from our subconsultant for the FDR. Therefore, we are requesting to revise the contract
ceiling to reflect actual hours worked plus funds necessary to complete project closeout through TDOT Local Programs. The
estimated cost for these additional services is $20,000, based on held labor charges of $4,350 and a held subconsultant
invoice of $5,570. We also anticipate receiving one final invoice from the subconsultant in June to cover services related to
final records and closeout. The original contract amount was $177,410, and with this amendment of $20,000 , the revised
co
ntract ceiling will be $197,410.
