SUBJECT: Asset #4316 CAT 232D Replacement 
 
The Public Works Department is requesting Council approval for purchase of a replacement skid 
steer for the street maintenance  division. Asset #4 316 is scheduled for replacement in 2031; 
however, the demands of street maintenance operations have increased in addition to procuring 
new paving equipment to improve operations which requires a larger hi-flow unit. 
 
The Department recommends replacement via purchase of a CAT 275 skid steer under Statewide 
Contract SWC-225 for $115,458.50 from the fleet fund. This price includes delivery of equipment 
to the Public Works facility. The equipment is currently on the Stowers lot in Knoxville. 
 
After receipt of the equipment,  inspection, and addition to the City’s insurance coverage, asset
