RESOLUTION NO. 2022-31
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTY FROM TERESA VINCENT

WHEREAS, the City of Athens wishes to enhance transportation and _ industrial
development infrastructure on behalf of our citizens; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Athens has identified key properties in the City where
enhancements can be made to provide for better connectivity and benefit the development of

industry; and,

WHEREAS, the City Manager has successfully negotiated a fair purchasing price, in good
faith, for a portion of property on the edge of the already city-owned Redfern site.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Athens, Tennessee, as
follows:

That the recitals above are true and accurate and form a part of the Resolution; and

That meeting in regular session this 15'" day of November, 2022 that the City is hereby
authorized to purchase a portion of real property located on the southeastern edge of the city-
owned Redfern industrial site at the intersection of Jackson Street and Redfern Drive, off the
west side of Parcel # 290.00 on Map 047, encompassing land of approximately 2.93 acres, from
Teresa Louise Vincent for $58,600.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the costs of completing the purchase with due diligence
documentation, including title examination and survey, shall be paid by the City.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Manager are authorized to sign any
documents necessary to complete the purchase of the property.
