ORDINANCE NO. 426 AN ORDINANCE TO OFICIALLY CLOSE AND ABANDON AN ALLEY BETWEEN ASTRID STREET AND ELK STREET THE SAME BEING DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, it is the desire and wish of all of the property owners that own property adjoining the hereinafter described alley that said alley be closed; and WHEREAS, the property owners have signed a Petition (said Petition is filed herewith and marked as Exhibit "A"), requestifig that said alley be clased in that said property owners feel that it would be to the best interest af the City and said property owners that the same be closed in order that said areas may be developed and utilized; and WHEREAS, it is to the public welfare that said alley be officially closed and abandoned. SECTION 1. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF ATHENS, TENNESSEE, AS FOLLOWS: That an alley be closed and abandoned, said alley being described as follows: Lying and being in the City of Athens, Tennessee, and more particularly described as follows, to-wit: BEGINNING for the bounds of said alley at a point being the Northeast property corner of that parcel of tand designated as parcel 46, F. M. Wofford Addition and being described in property book 3-d, page 452 of the land records of McMinn County. THENCE; West, running and binding with the Northwest property line of said parcel, a distance of one hundred eighty feet to the intersection of said property line and the Northeast right of way line of Astrid Street; thence running Northwest being on common course with the Northwest right of way - line of Astrid Street to-a point being the Southwest property corner of Lot 38 of the F. M. Wofford 14
