Agenda Item
IV. K. Purchase of Equipment and Services for the Decatur Pike Corridor Traffic Signal
Retiming Project

Overview
The City Council funded a traffic signal study for the Decatur Pike corridor between Denso
Drive and Holiday Drive. Kimley- Horn conducted the study and it was completed during July
2025 (see attached study) . The analysis reviewed four intersections (Denso/Milton, I -75
Southbound Ramps, I -75 Northbound Ramps, and Holiday Drive) . All intersections are
currently operating at acceptable levels of service but the study identified targeted improvements
to increase efficiency and traffic coordination.

The FY 2025-26 approved Capital Improvement Fund budget contains $193,000 for this project.
The city’s traffic signal maintenance contractor, Stansell Electric, provided a proposal totaling
$257,409.15 for this project or $64,409.15 over the estimated budget. This overage amount will
come from the Capital Improvement Fund.
