Dear Mayor Perkinson,
We are pleased to inform you that the Tennessee Department  of Transportation (TDOT) has selected 
your Bicycle/Pedestrian Master Plan for funding under TDOT's Transportation Planning  Grant (TPG) 
program. We look forward to working with you on this opportunity. One of our next steps is to reach out to 
our list of on-call consultants to seek Requests for Proposals. Once we review those proposals to 
determine the best consultant for your project, we will continue with the steps listed below:  
• TDOT will initiate a meeting with you to discuss the project process and answer any questions
• Attend a scoping meeting with TDOT and the selected consultant
• You will need to submit a 10% matching check once the budget is finalized
• TDOT will work with you to schedule a kick-off meeting with the selected consultant
Within the next few weeks, you should receive an invitation from TDOT to discuss your project prior to a 
scoping meeting. We hope to have the consultant selection process complete by mid-June. Please do not 
send your 10% matching funds check until after a final budget has been finalized with the consultant—the 
cost may be lower than the $110,000 estimate, thus requiring a lower matching check.
