MINUTES 
Recreation Advisory Board/Tree Board/Little League Board 
Department of Parks and Recreation 
 
The Recreation Advisory Board /Tree City USA Board /Little League Board  met in a scheduled  
meeting on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, at 12:06 pm.  
 
Upon roll call the following members were present: 
Bob Miller, Ron Starr, Mary Scudder, Linda Long, Larry Rhodes and Johnny Coffman 
 
Upon roll call the following members were absent:  
Moises Contreras 
 
The following guests and staff members were present:  
Matt Siniard, Reya Joseph, Derek Phillips, and Shellie Stephens 
 
The following decisions were made  and ordered a part of the records of the Recreation Advisory 
Board/Tree City USA Board/ Little League Board.

MINUTES 
 
12:07pm Minutes for meetings held on February 22
nd, 2024, and April 18 th, 2024, we’re given to 
board, and we’re reviewed with no changes suggested. 
Motion made by Larry Rhodes, seconded by Bob Miller, to approve the minutes. 
Motion Carried

NEW BUSINESS 
 
Regional Update 12:08pm 
Matt Siniard discussed Regional Park hosting both the Senior Softball Tournament and 8/9/10 All 
Stars’ tournaments in the last month. He discussed the frequent compliments on our fields and park 
from the visitors. Matt discussed field usage and Bob Miller suggested the possibility of turf fields . 
Starting the discussion of  the numerous weather cancellations , the need for Sure Dry, the current 
fields, and the future possibility and cost of turf fields. 
Discussion about the splashpad, 4
th of July fireworks , and credit cards being  accepted at the 
concessions stand.  
 
Ingleside Update 12:20pm 
Matt Siniard discussed the pavement work being done and the parking lot closure on 6/20 and 6/21, 
relocating parking to Ingleside, and the overnight work on the fence this week or next (6/24-6/28), 
requiring the lights to be on during the work. 
Updating the board on the six pickleball/tennis courts construction and the completion around the 
end of July or August.
