SISTER CITIES PROGRAM 
 
MINUTES 
MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 
Wednesday, June 26, 2024 
12:00pm – Trinity UMC 
 
I. Welcome  
a. Roll Call: 
i. Present: Victoria White, Becky Simpson, Deb Wallace, Ersa Henry, and Betty Ruleman 
ii. Absent: Steve Sherlin, Austin Fesmire, and Lindsey Ferguson 
II. Approval of Minutes 
a. Motion was made by Ersa Henry, seconded by Betty Ruleman, for the approval of minutes of 
the April 8, 2024 meeting. 
Motion carried 
III. New Business 
a. Vote on making $2500 donation to Knox Asian Festival – Victoria White explained the 
program of the Japanese workshop series, possible locations of the events and how to 
promote the events. 
i. Motion was made by Ersa Henry, seconded by Deb Wallace, for a $2500 donation be 
made to the Knox Asian Festival to receive the workshop series. 
Motion Carried 
b. Financial needs for CG visit –  SCRA increase – The program has six (6) SCRA’s signed up for 
the CG visit. The program might have enough to cover the expenses now, but Betty will check 
with Anna on an updated budget. 
c. Request Mayor Sherlin to announce welcome dinner at next City Council meeting – The 
Mayor will be asked to mention the welcome dinner and the workshop series  at the July 
study session. Brianna may be able to put a post on the City Facebook page. 
d. Election of Officers –  
i. Motion was made by Becky Simpson, seconded by Victoria White, to keep Ersa 
Henry, Betty Ruleman and Lindsey Ferguson in their current positions on the board 
for another term. 
Motion carried
