Agenda Item X. A. Cook Park Splash Pad Overview During the March 18, 2025 regular session, the C ity Council requested staff explore the cost and feasibility of constructing a new splash pad at Cook Park. Based on that directive, estimated costs of a new splash pad were obtained from professional vendors, V ortex and Great Southern. Those estimated costs were presented to the City Council during the April 7, 2025 work session. However, this item was not moved to the April 15, 2025 regular session but was discussed anyway but died for lack of a second to a motion. During the May 12, 2025 work session, Councilmember Pelley requested this item be reconsidered. Again, this item died for lack of a second to a motion. During the June 7, 2025 work session, the City Council again requested that this topic be placed on the July 15, 2025 regular session for further discussion. Below is an estimated cost of the project and attached is a general rendering of the product: Item Estimated Cost Water Features $250,000 Water Management System and Controls 195,000 Drainage System 8,000 Water Recirculation/Pump Assembly 100,000 Transportation 10,000 Site Development and Installation (including concrete, electrical, grass seed) 900,000 Total Estimated Costs $1,463,000 Action to Consider Motion, second, and majority vote are needed to approve constructing a splash pad at Cook Park.
