1. Briefly describe why you wish to be considered for this appointment:
The present Board has provided excellent leadership and oversight. They know their
responsibilities, and the role of the Board, and have always kept in mind

the best
interests of the community, the rate payers, and employees. I would like to see 
this continue. 
2. Describe qualifications that you possess which would benefit this board and the
citizens of this community:
My academic background is in Electrical Engineering. I retired from AUB after 37 years in 2017. 
The last 10 years I served as the Superintendent of the Power Division.
Additionally, I supervised the Dispatch Center and was a Standby/Emergency Supervisor for 30 
years. This required that I have working and operational knowledge of all
Divisions at AUB.  On retainer with AUB until February 2020.
3. List present and past city boards, commissions, or committees on which you have
served or continue to serve and indicate years of service on each:

4. List civic organizations within Athens and McMinn County of which you are an active
participant: None at this time.
5. List present and future expectations for the City of Athens: Basically both are economical
development. Having AUB provide the most reliable and economical services is
essential to· accomplish this. However, we must make sure that we attract the
right business or industry to locate here in our community. We must also
enhance our schools.
6. The dates of board meetings are listed on the attached committee summary. Will your
current employer/occupation allow you the opportunity to attend these meetings on a
regular basis? Yes x ; No ___ _
7. Other Comments or suggestions: My background would provide engineering and operational
expertise to compliment the Board. As a Superintendent I worked with the Board for
over 10 years, and know how the Board works. I know all>of the present Board
members and would be able to transition in smoothly and quickly.
