There is Ii m ited lighting protection with questionable effectiveness I ocated at the rear of the 
building. Staff has communicated that there have been numerous instances of issues 
stemming from lighting strikes in the past. 
4.5 Emergency Lighting 
Interior emergency egress lighting is done with a mix of battery back-up bug-eye fixtures and 
fixtures with integral batteries. Some of the fixtures no longer work. There is no exterior 
emergency egress lighting. The emergency egress lighting and exit signs should be upgraded 
to meet the current NFPA 101 requirements. 
4.6 Fire Alarm System 
The existing fire alarm system is in good condition. 
4.7 Communications 
The existing communications comes into a room centrally located in the middle of the building. 
Cabling is managed with runners located under the fioor that travel to the room from the rear 
portion of the building. The infrastructure appears to be in good condition. 
4.8 Building Code Issues 
The existing facility does not have sufficient emergency egress lighting inside or outside the 
building. 
SITE 
5.1 Parking/Site access 
The existing site immediately surrounding the buildings consists of asphalt paving and some 
concrete paving. There is public parking located at the front western entrance and side 
southern entrance. The parking located on north side is dedicated to fire and police traffic. 
The existing paving condition is in moderate condition and shows typical wear for its age and 
use.
