Agenda Item IV. C. Resolution 2026-12, a Resolution to Apply for a 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Overview The Public Works Department is requesting authorization to submit a n application for a federal CDBG grant to construct downtown improvements along Madison Avenue, Washington Avenue, White Street and Jackson Street in accordance with the Downtown Master Plan concept from 2020 (see attachment) and specific downtown plans that are currently being developed. Specific improvements consist of curbing improvements, landscaping, pedestrian signals, ADA accessibility improvements, s tormwater enhancements, and pedest rian crosswalk improvements . This project would improve pedestrian safety, reduce vehicle crashes, address ADA issue, and improve the aesthetics of the downtown area. T he estimated cost for this project is $ 1,008,000 with $900,000 coming from the grant and the balance of $108,000 (required local match) coming from the city’s Capital Improvement Fund, if the grant is awarded. A ttached is a memo from the Public Works Department with additional details. Action to Consider Consensus is needed to move this item to the March 17, 2026 regular session for consideration.
