V. E. Bid Award for RFB 26-03 Athens Fire Station No. 3 
 
Overview 
The City solicited bids for the construction of Fire Station No. 3 under Request for Bids (RFB) 26-
03. Bids were opened on May 28, 2026, and reviewed by the project architect, Wold Architects and 
Engineers, and the City ’s Purchasing Assistant . Following review of the submitted bids, KTM 
Builders, LLC of Chattanooga, Tennessee, was determined to be the lowest responsive bidder , in 
the amount of $5,985,590. The bid includes a $250,000 contingency.  
 
The estimated total project cost is $6,755,740. This includes construction, furniture, fixtures, and 
equipment, special inspections, security and technology, and design fees. Approximately $400,000 
of the total project cost has already been spent in this fiscal year on planning and design.  
 
Action to Consider 
Consensus is needed to move this item to the regular session on June 16, 2026 for consideration.
