A RE
SOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF ATHENS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 
PUBLIC ENTITY PARTNERS JAMES L. RICHARDSON DRIVER MATCHING 
GRANT. 
WHEREAS, the safety and well -being of the employees of the City of Athens, is of the 
greatest importance; and  
W
HEREAS, all efforts shall be made to provide a safe and hazard-free workplace for the 
City of Athens employees; and  
W
HEREAS, Public Entity Partners address es training needs and safety concerns for 
employees who operate city or agency vehicles; and  
W
HEREAS, Public Entity Partners seeks to encourage the establishment of a safe 
workplace by offering the James L. Richardson Driver Matching Grant (50/50); and 
W
HEREAS, the City of Athens now seeks to participate in this important program.

W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
ATHENS, TENNESSEE AS FOLLOWS:

ECTION 1.  
That the City of Athens is hereby authorized to apply for the James L. Richardson Driver Matching 
Grant through Public Entity Partners.

ECTION 2.  
That the City of Athens is further authorized to provide matching funds in an amount not to exceed 
$2,500 to serve as the required match for any monies provided by this grant.
