MINUTES 
MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 
 
Wednesday, October 11, 2023 
12:00pm – EDA Boardroom 
 
I. Welcome  
a. Roll Call: 
i. Present: Victoria White, Austin Fesmire, Becky Simpson, Dick Pelley, Deb Wallace, 
and Ersa Henry 
ii. Absent:  Lindsey Ferguson and Betty Ruleman 
II. Approval of Minutes 
a. Motion was made by Austin Fesmire , seconded by Deb Wallace , for the approval of 
minutes of the August 16, 2023 meeting. 
Motion carried 
III. New Business 
a. Application Process for Sending US Students to Japan – Application is live on Facebook 
and the City of Athens website until October 31, 2023.  Subcommittee to review 
applications 
b. Timeline for Applications – Applications will be accepted until midnight on O ctober 31, 
2023.  The board will meet on November 1, 2023 to discuss applications.
